Lesson Summary
Students have just completed their study of Walter Lord's "A Night to Remember". Based on the novel, students will be asked to write persuasively or write using a specific point of view. Students will be given the choice to design an advertising brochure to persuade potential travellers or design a front page of a newspaper targeting a specific journalistic point of view based on news events of the day.

Problem Statement
Your task will be to write persuasively or from a particular point of view, by choosing to design a brochure or a newspaper cover that reflects the Titanic story of 1912. Your information must come from three reliable sources of information and be properly cited.

Results Presentation

1. Students will design a visually attractive brochure used to persuade potential travellers by detailing specific amenities, safety regulations and cost margins. The brochure will be written in a persuavive manner imploring the proper mechanics of writing. The brochure must be formatted appropriately using proper font, images, and design mechanics without the aid of a template.

2. Students will design a captivating front page of a 1912 appropriate newspaper. The content of the articles must be from a particular point of view and the layout of the articles must be placed appropriately in order of importance. The design of the front page must utilize proper setup of columns, fonts and design mechanics appropriate for a newspaper without the use of a template.
