Student groups will use data gathered from the internet and other sources to complete a Presidential Data Gathering Sheet and create a 5-7 slide Power Point Presentation on President of choice.

Problem Statement
Who are some of our Greatest Presidents of the United States? What made or makes them great? What are some things are you wondering about these President\\\\\\\'s? Today you will become a Presidential investigator. It is your job to investigate the lives of some of the Presidents of the United States, identify one of whom you and your group would like to know more about, gather information on that President and present his life to the class. We are all excited to meet the Greatest President of the United States. It is your job to present to us facts to support why you think your President is the greatest. Good luck and have fun!

Integration Strategies
Students will use the computer to gather basic information on some of the History of the Presidents of the United States and chose their favorite to do futher research to complete the Presidential Data Gathering Sheet and create a 5-7 slide Power Point presentation on their President of choice.

Student groups will the Presidential Data Gathering Sheet to organize information on thier President of choice.

Elaboration Strategies
Student groups will create a 5-7 slide Power Point Presentation on the President of their chioce. The Slides are to include, but are not limited to: 1. Picture, name, birthday, lifespan 2. Family 3. Hobbies 4. 1-3 interesting facts 5. 1-3 important contributions or events during their years of service.

Activities Before Using the Computer
Group students in groups of 3-4 \\\\\\\"Who are some of our Greatest Presidents of the United States? (record responses on class charted titled Great Presidents of the United States) Share some facts about some of the Presidents. Some sites that may provide background information: http://whitehouse.gov/history/presidents/ www.ipl.org/div/potus/ www.potus.com What made or makes them great? What are some things are you wondering about these President\\\\\\\'s? Today you will become a Presidential investigator. Group Information:
Recorder: write answers on sheet Reader: read specified information out loud for group to hear Leader: Keeps group on task and focused on lesson, in charge of internet searches (computer controller) Organizer: Keeps up with all the materials, in charge of organizing the Power Point (computer controller) (May rotate from day to day) Students will conduct own searches and information obtained from the resource list below to complete the Presidential Data Gathering Sheet and Create the 5-7 slide Power Point. Write \\\"Who am I Riddles\\\" presentations of others Write a letter to your favorite President (from own group or another). Locate address and sent through the US Postal Service. Create Title and Bookcover for one of your favorite Presidents.
